Connecting and sharing ideas to fuel research progress
About Exeloop℠
Exeloop℠ serves as a dynamic hub connecting the Karen Toffler Charitable Trust (KTCT) with Toffler Scholars, university partners, and research supporters across philanthropy, policy, and investment. Designed as a catalyst for collaboration, Exeloop builds a living network where relationships deepen, discoveries gain momentum, and the future of brain health begins to take form. Through this integrated model, Exeloop connects emerging scientific talent with experienced leaders and supporters who can help translate promising ideas into real-world impact. Within this network, the Scholar Exeloop brings together early-career researchers to share ideas and build scientific collaboration. At the same time, the Executive Exeloop convenes senior leaders, innovators, and philanthropists to explore how cross-sector partnerships can accelerate discovery. This approach fosters trust and a shared sense of purpose among participants, strengthening the collective effort to accelerate breakthroughs in neuroscience and brain health.
Promoting Connection and Innovation
EXECUTIVE EXELOOPS℠
Exeloop Executive℠ convenes senior leaders, innovators, and philanthropists for invitation-only, in-person engagements designed to inspire collaboration and innovation in medical research. These intimate events focus on neurology and brain health, creating a dynamic environment that encourages candid, off-the-record dialogue about the forces reshaping scientific discovery, research funding, and innovation. Participants engage with emerging ideas and shared challenges while expanding their networks beyond familiar circles. By bringing together individuals who might not normally collaborate, Exeloop Executive introduces new perspectives, sparks fresh thinking, and fosters connections that can accelerate impact and shape how neurological breakthroughs move from insight to real-world application.
In 2025, KTCT hosted a pivotal Executive Exeloop in Los Angeles on October 22, convening senior leaders from academia, industry, government, and philanthropy to examine how the $1.7 trillion global research ecosystem is evolving amid funding constraints, administrative pressures, and shifting public trust. Discussions focused on bridging the “valley of death” between discovery and application, strengthening support for early-career researchers, and accelerating cross-sector collaboration to move innovations to patients. The resulting report can be read here.
Other resulting reports capture the insights and outcomes of these high-level discussions. Together, they reflect KTCT’s commitment to fostering coherence, collaboration, and imagination as the foundation for a stronger, more connected future of research.
